"One Woman Can"

This is my very first blog entry and I figured that I would make my first post about myself.

My name is Samantha (obviously), and I am 26 year old wife and mother. I am married to a United States Marine and I just gave birth to beautiful baby girl 2 months ago. To be 100% honest, my heart is filled with so much love I feel like I could just explode. I have been married to my husband for 4 years. When I got married, I made the decision to quit work and stay at home. My reason for this was that I knew in just  a few short months after getting married my husband was going to be deployed to Afghanistan. The problem with being a shy wife to a Marine in a new town was that I was bored. Since I was so shy I didn't have many friends at the time. The majority of the friends I had were my husbands friends and their girlfriends (most of the girlfriends lived out of town so I was lucky to see them twice a year). I was also so used to working that I wanted to bring some income in, but I knew getting a job was out of the question because once my husband deployed I was moving back to my parents until he came back.

One afternoon my husband and I were at the mall and I noticed a car with a Mary Kay sticker on the back. Now, I knew what Mary Kay was but until I saw that sticker I never gave any thought to becoming a consultant. So I called the lady, she told me all about the business, Mary Kay, and about "one woman can" and signed up to become a consultant. After getting my kit in the mail, I had a small freak out. I mean I was shy, REALLY SHY! How on earth would I be successful?! My husband looked at me and told me that this is exactly what I needed to overcome my shyness. Of course when he said that I looked  at him like he had 5 heads. He went on to explain to me that I had a love for makeup and beauty products and since I loved it so much talking to people about something that I am so passionate about should be a walk in the park. Not only should it be easier for me to talk to people to make sales I would probably stick with it because its beauty and skin care. I guess that he had point.

Flash forward a few months, I was doing ok. I had a good number of loyal clients and I was booking 2-3 parties a month. Sadly, I was moving back home so I could no longer book parties in the town that  we were currently living. Once I got back home, I stuck with Mary Kay and gained some clients in my hometown. I was doing way better than I expected. Especially since I expected to fall on my face and fail.

Moving forward to when my husband came home. Once he was home I decided to longer sell Mary Kay. I guess you could say this was for selfish reasons. I wanted to have as much time with my husband, instead of going into peoples homes several times a month for an hour or two. I know an hour or two doesn't sound like much, but when you are married to someone in the military any time that you get with that person you take.

Now my husband and I are in a different city and state and I have decided that I want to join Mary Kay again. I am hoping to be as successful as I was previously and hopefully become even more successful. I have a few different goals this time around. One of those goals is to build a team. When I was first a consultant building a team wasn't a priority. I was more worried about taking it day by day and focusing on my sales.

I absolutely love Mary Kay, and I am blessed to be apart of this great company! I have come out of my shell and I was able to meet ladies that have become some great friends. Seriously yall Mary Kay has changed my life for the better. I know lots of people say this, but it really has.  Its brought out the best in me & raise my self confidence greatly.

I made this blog to share my love for Mary Kay, give beauty tips and advice, and hopefully introduce Mary Kay to others, near and far. As I said previously, I love my job and I can't wait to share all that Mary Kay has to offer both as a client and a consultant.

My next post will discuss the Mary Kay starter kit and the benefits of being a consultant.

Bear with me on the look of my blog yall. I will work on the layout and design soon.

Stay Beautiful,
Samantha
